I’ve been living internal work since late 2004. For me, it really took off when I listened to my heart and went out and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. It took a huge leap of faith for me to give up all that I knew in order to live alone in the woods for about six months while I hiked from Georgia to Maine. Since then, my willingness and ability to be led by my heart (what I want to, choose to, like to, and love to do) instead of my head (what I believe I have to, ought to, should, and need to do) has grown exponentially. Teachers are everywhere. I find them in books by Byron Katie, don Miguel Ruiz, and my coaching certification teacher, Debbie Ford. They’re also in less obvious places like standing in line at the grocery, answering the door to find a solicitor and in a phone call with one of my family members or friends. Choosing to live this introspective work is a joy-filled and sacred gift. I feel even more blessed to get to share my passion for this work with others through my business, Altman Life Coaching. For all of this, I am thankful.
